Accounting executive to speak March 25

John Veihmeyer, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of KPMG, will present "Foundations of a High Performance Culture in a Dynamic Profession" as part of this year's Executive Speaker Series hosted by Miami University's Farmer School of Business. The presentation is at 5 p.m. Monday, March 25, in Taylor Auditorium.

Veihmeyer’s speech will address the state of the accounting profession, and he will also incorporate the idea of ethics and integrity as the underpinning of a successful culture within a changing environment. As the 2011 recipient of the CEO Leadership Award from Diversity Best Practices, Veihmeyer often speaks about the crucial roles of ethics and integrity, as well as diversity.

His 35-year career at KPMG has come with many responsibilities, including being named chairman of the corporation across the Americas. Veihmeyer was also named one of the top 100 most influential people in accounting by Accounting Today magazine for the years 2009- 2012. As an alumnus, he serves on the University of Notre Dame Mendoza College Business Advisory Council.

The Farmer School’s Executive Speaker Series, now in its 11th year, brings key leaders to Miami to provide an engaging atmosphere that encourages students to gain insights on how executives think, manage and inspire.
