Stanlee Stahl (Miami ’67), executive vice president of The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous, will speak on rescue during the Holocaust at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in 212 MacMillan Hall. Her talk is part of the annual Genocide and Holocaust Education Program organized by the Center for American and World Cultures.

The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous provides financial support to some 700 non-Jews who rescued Jews during the Holocaust and preserves their legacy through a national education program.

Before joining the Foundation, Stahl established Extra Helping, New Jersey’s first prepared food transfer program. Extra Helping picked up leftover food from corporate dining halls, caterers and schools and delivered it to programs that fed New Jersey’s hungry. As part of Extra Helping, she opened a kosher component, the only one in the United States.

Stahl spent 20 years working for the United States Department of Health and Human Services and also lived in Israel, where she worked for Magen David Adom, Israel’s Red Cross Society.

Her talk is sponsored by the Center for American and World Cultures, the department of history's Holocaust Education Fund and the Miami University Hillel Foundation, with support from many other campus organizations.
