Barbara Jones accepts position at Boston College

Barbara Jones
Barbara Jones, vice president for student affairs at Miami University, has accepted the same position at Boston College, effective July 1.

“We are very grateful for all that Barb Jones has done to serve Miami,” said President David Hodge. “Her passion for student success and, especially, her efforts to complete the operational planning for the Armstrong Student Center, have a big impact on our students and our campus. We wish her well in her new position at Boston College.”

At Miami since 2008, Jones is credited with enhancing staff development and student success through a series of professional development programs that focused on student retention, academic success, program assessment and alcohol education.

“I have greatly enjoyed my experience with the students at Miami. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with the talented and caring faculty and staff of the university,” Jones said.

Prior to assuming her role at Miami, Jones served as assistant chancellor for student affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, associate vice president for student affairs at Ball State University, and as director of student activities and organizations at Minnesota State University-Mankato.

She also served as president of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) from 2006-2007, and as a member of the National Task Force on the Future of Student Affairs from 2008-2010.
