Miami welcomes new students and their families for sixteen overnight orientation sessions June 4-July 3 (less June 20-23 for Alumni Weekend).
During each orientation session, more than 230 new students and their families will attend programs in the Shriver Center and stay in the Morris, Emerson and Tappan residence halls. They will park along Maple Street and in nearby lots as well as Harris Drive.
Because the orientation office is reserving spaces along and near Maple Street, where some staff, faculty and students typically park, Miami employees and students will have to park elsewhere. To help drivers who will have to find new parking spaces, Miami is making the Campus Ave. garage available without charge during orientation, June 4-July 3.
During Alumni Weekend, the north campus garage will also be available without a fee.
“We thank the campus in advance for helping to provide a smooth and welcoming experience for new students and guests at orientation,” said Buffy Stoll, director of new student programs at Miami.
