Miami students and Oxford residents now have access to nationwide bus travel through Barons Bus Lines, which recently established a daily Cincinnati to Detroit line with a stop in Oxford.
The bus service, which began in Oxford on June 8, offers $10 tickets from Oxford to Cincinnati or Indianapolis; $25 to Bowling Green; and $35 to Detroit.
Barons Bus Lines, an intercity bus provider established last November, also offers the convenience of connecting directly to Greyhound Lines for service to destinations across the country.
“Having an intercity bus connection between Miami University and other local cities will be helpful in connecting our university community to the region and also supports the institutional commitments to a sustainable transportation network,” said Ben Spilman, Miami’s director of parking and transportation services.
“This bus line will provide another option to arrive and depart from Oxford without a personal car, thereby reducing local congestion and inefficient single-occupant trips."
The bus pickup is at the corner of Spring and Maple streets, next to the Shriver Center.
