Swofford named director of Performing Arts Series
Patti Hannan Swofford, director of marketing for the Cincinnati Arts Association, has been named director of Miami University's Performing Arts Series.
She succeeds Don Fritz, who is retiring after 15 years in the post.
At the art association, Swofford was responsible for all marketing and public relations efforts for the performing arts center, which has five theaters and an operating budget of $8 million.
Swofford served as assistant director of the university concert series at the University of Missouri at Columbia, and as promotions manager for KBIA, an NPR station in Columbia, Mo. She has been co-owner of an advertising agency and worked as an account executive.
"Miami's Performing Art Series is known throughout the region for excellence in programming. Our goal was to find someone who could build on retiring director Don Fritz's success in scheduling exciting events and attracting audiences. Patti's experience and enthusiasm make her the ideal choice to succeed Don," said Provost Anne Hopkins.
