E-business talks to academia at IMS conference

E-business industry leaders will share plans for the future with the academic community during "E-Merging Futures: Interactive Media and the University/Business Alliance," the third annual conference of Miami University’s Center for Interactive Media Studies (IMS), held 9:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Miami’s Marcum Conference Center.

Featured speakers include e-business leaders from the Chicago Tribune; uBid.com, an online auction company; Procter & Gamble’s Global Beauty Care Interactive; Foxsports.com; PlanetFeedback.com; and Belo Interactive, Inc. These speakers will be part of a morning panel session on "Interactive Media in the Business World: What Business Leaders Have to Tell Academics."

Afternoon sessions include "Thinking Outside of the Box: Creative Strategies for Establishing an IMS Program at Your Institution" and "The Alumni Return: Recent Graduates Tell About Their Experiences in Interactive Media Careers."

The IMS conference is sponsored by Miami’s School of Fine Arts, College of Arts and Science, Miami University Libraries and the Chicago Tribune Interactive, in cooperation with the 20th annual Lilly Conference on College Teaching, at the Marcum Center Nov. 16-19.

Registration is available on the day of the conference, and is free for Miami students, staff and faculty, with a $15 fee for lunch (optional). Others may register by using the Lilly Conference Web site.
