Dylan and more at Parents Weekend
Parents Weekend, Friday-Sunday, Nov. 3-5, includes a variety of sports, music, lectures and open houses.
Bob Dylan is the featured entertainer. He will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in Millett Hall.
Friday activities include varsity volleyball at Millett, public ice skating at Goggin Ice Arena, a poetry slam in the Shriver Heritage Room coffeehouse and
7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. performances by the Second City Touring Company in the Shriver multipurpose rooms.
Saturdays highlight is the noon kickoff against Ohio University at Yager Stadium, during which Miami's Parents of the Year, Jim and Melva Brown, will be honored.
Also on Saturday is the 4th annual RedHawk 5K run/walk beginning at
9 a.m. at the health center, a special presentation "Old Miami, New Miami: Stories by Dr. Phillip R. Shriver" at 10 a.m. in Hall Auditorium and open houses throughout the day, including a reception at the art museum following the game.
At 7 p.m. the ice hockey team plays Notre Dame; at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday music ensembles will present World Percussion Concerts in Hall Auditorium.
