Miami graduate student receives Fulbright Award


Miami University graduate student Ben Kuebrich is recipient of a Fulbright Award for 2008-09. A master's candidate in composition and rhetoric at Miami, Kuebrich has a nine-month Fulbright English assistantship at Ataturk University in the province of Eraurum, Turkey. He will teach basic writing.

Kuebrich is recipient of both the Miami department of English and College of Arts and Science 2008 graduate student outstanding teaching awards. He received a 2007-08 $500 Faculty Learning Community grant from Miami's Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching.

Kuebrich received a bachelor's degree in English from Illinois State University.

Fulbright awards are funded by the U.S. Department of State; recipients are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement as well as demonstrated leadership potential. Kuebrich is one of more than 1,450 U.S. citizens who will travel abroad for the 2008-09 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. student program.
