New perspectives in learning focus of lecture


Daryl Baldwin and George Ironstrack will present "Myaamia Education: New Perspectives in Learning" at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, at the Miami University Art Museum. Baldwin, educational leadership, is director of the Myaamia Project. Ironstrack is an assistant director and education specialist for student affairs.

Their talk will discuss the importance of defining Myaami education and the challenges faced in understanding the role tribal knowledge plays within the larger experience of both Myaamia youth and adults in making connections between individual, communal and national identities.

The Sandy Osawa film series continues at the art museum with a screening of "Lighting the Fire," at 7 p.m. Nov. 13 at the museum, with a second screening at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.
