Miami University's Dance Theatre will present winter concerts at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Hall Auditorium. Dance Theatre concerts feature an eclectic blend of modern dance, jazz and ballet, set to music from diverse genres.

Dance Theatre director Lana Kay Rosenberg choreographed "Ave Maria X Four," a piece celebrating women and "Prema, Shanti, Dharma, Satya" with music by indipop composer Sheila Chandra for the concerts.

Guest choreographers include alumnae Amanda Adams '98 with "One Space Two Space Three"; Margaret Donohue '06 with "As We See the Road"; Laura Dattilo '08 with "She knows not what she does" and Shannon Vroom '06 with a work that tells the story of Icarus.
Also featured will be works choreographed by current Dance Theatre members. Works include "In Memory Of..." by Maggie Herrick, a senior creative writing major from Toledo and "Living in a World too big for us" by interior design senior Jenna Green of Warren. Herrick's piece celebrates the relationship between a daughter and a mother. Green's work incorporates her own poetry.

After the Saturday concert, Dance Theatre offers a "talk back" giving the audience a chance to meet the choreographers and dancers, discuss the performance, ask questions and offer feedback.
Tickets are $6 in advance at the Miami University box office in the Shriver Center and $8 at the door for students/seniors, $10 in advance and $12 at the door for general admission. For more information, call 529-3200.
