Miami University physics graduate student, Jonathan Schuerger '07, has been awarded an Institute of Navigation (ION) Graduate Student Award by the Dayton ION Section. The $2,000 prize is awarded to graduate students who demonstrate excellence in the field of navigation.
He is working on the design and analysis of a novel radar/communication/navigation system for the U.S. Air Force and is advised by Yu Tong (Jade) Morton, associate professor of electrical and computer engineering (ECE) and Dmitriy Garmatyuk, ECE assistant professor.
Schuerger has been involved with the project, funded by the Air Force Office of Scientific Research, since receiving his bachelor's degree from Miami. He plans to continue his career in the radar and navigation field after receiving his master's this year.
