A retirement forum for all new and current employees will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, in the Heritage Room at Shriver Center. This session is not for employees contemplating retirement.
The forum is sponsored by human resources, benefit services, and will feature representatives from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) and the Alternative Retirement Plans (ARP) who will be available to answer questions. Newly hired employees have 120 days from their hire date to choose a retirement plan; the forum can help with this decision.
Representatives from the tax-deferred annuity (403b) vendors and the Ohio 457 Plan also will be available at the forum. All employees are eligible to participate in these plans. They provide a supplement to retirement savings in addition to tax deferral while currently employed.
Registration begins at noon, followed by a short presentation by the benefit services staff regarding tax-deferred annuities and retirement plan options.
