Miami will participate Tuesday, Nov. 14, in a nationwide initiative to challenge the status quo by "Mixing It Up" at lunch. The campaign, sponsored by Community Advocacy Alliance (CAA), encourages students, faculty and staff to step out of their comfort zones and begin the process of exploring and crossing group boundaries.
Faculty, staff and students are invited between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to Harris Dining Hall on Oak Street. The intent is to encourage dialogue about social and cultural boundaries, to create a united effort toward accepting diverse cultures and people and to foster an environment supportive of students faculty and staff of different religion, gender, age, ethnicity, race, nationality, size, socioeconomic status, disabilities or sexual orientation.
CAA has free dining hall passes for those interested in participating. Passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis by contacting Janet Fink, 9-6504 or email@example.com.
