Miami3 will perform at noon Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Oxford. Members are Harvey Thurmer, violin; Michele Gingras, clarinet; and Heather MacPhail, piano.

Members formed the ensemble to perform and commission crossover music, a style that contains elements of classical or concert music mixed with popular styles including jazz, Klezmer, folk, pop, ragtime and world music.

The program at Holy Trinity, free and open to the public, includes a Suite by Darius Milhaud; "Merry Music" by Philip Parker, composer and associate professor of music at Arkansas Tech University; and "The Klezmer's Wedding" by Srul Irving Glick.

Thurmer joined Miami's faculty in 1997 and is associate professor of violin. Gingras has been on the Miami faculty since 1986 and is professor of clarinet. MacPhail is staff accompanist at Miami and has been piano accompanist for the Cincinnati May Festival Chorus for 17 years.
