Information bulletin: Off-campus burglaries


Oxford police report two burglaries this weekend in student homes in which the doors were unlocked.

Students in the 100 block of N. Elm reported to police that some time in the early morning of Sunday, Dec. 14, between about 2 a.m. and 11 a.m., someone entered their home via the unlocked back door and stole electronics including video game systems, games and a TV.

A student living in the 300 block of N. College told Oxford police that in the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 14, someone entered the home through its back door and stole a video game system and a game. There was no sign of force entry.

No injuries were reported in either case.

Police remind everyone to make sure doors and first-floor windows are locked while they are sleeping, home alone or away.
