Clothesline Project confronts violence
The Miami University Clothesline Project will be displayed from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Nov. 13-16, in the academic quad.
The Clothesline Project is a display of shirts with written messages and illustrations that demonstrate the impact of violence against women. They are designed by women survivors of violence, their families or friends. The purpose is to educate, to mourn those who have died as a result of violence and to bear witness to a woman’s courage to survive and heal.
Blank shirts and markers will be provided from 6-9 p.m. Nov. 15 in Western Lodge for women interested in adding a shirt to the Miami Clothesline. The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by Women’s Issues Student Educators (W.I.S.E.) with support from other student organizations.
