Consumer Generated Media focus of Nov. 29 talk

Pete Blackshaw, chief marketing officer for Nielsen BuzzMetrics, will speak on "Dancing with Megaphones: Understanding, Measuring and Leveraging Consumer Generated Media" at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, in 1 Laws Hall.

Today's consumers are expressing their opinions about companies, products and brands with power and permanence. Such consumer generated media, or CGM, is reshaping the marketing, advertising and research landscapes. CGM can be measured and quantified, and that analysis can shape decisions across the marketing spectrum, from new product launch to advertising effectiveness.

Blackshaw's talk is sponsored by the Center for Advanced Computing Resources, interactive media studies and the marketing department.
