Jay Henderson named Miami trustee
Gov. Bob Taft has announced the appointment of Jay L. Henderson, Chagrin Falls, to Miami’s board of trustees.
Henderson was appointed to a nine-year term, ending in February 2011. He replaces Eleanor Irwin, whose term recently expired.
Henderson (Miami ’77) is a managing partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Cleveland. After joining the company in 1977, he became a partner in 1989 and is now the Cleveland office managing partner and partner-in-charge of the company’s U.S. markets and industries.
Henderson is active in civic leadership roles including positions as co-chairman of the board of directors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and a member of the board of directors of United Way Services of Cleveland and chairman of its Community Investment and Resource Management committee. He also has been vice chairman of the board of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association, a member of the board of directors of WVIZ-TV and a member of the Ohio Business Roundtable.
He serves on Miami’s Business Advisory Council and is a former president of the Alumni Association board of directors.
"Jay Henderson is a loyal Miami alumnus who has served Miami in many ways since his graduation. I am delighted by his appointment and look forward to working with him," said President James Garland.
