22nd annual Lilly Conference Nov. 21-24
The 22nd annual Lilly Conference on College Teaching will be held Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 21-24, at the Marcum Conference Center.
Workshops, panels and seminars include topics ranging from "A Meeting of the Minds: Undergraduate Research of Both the Student Researcher and the Faculty Adviser" and "A Chorus of Voices Singing the Joys of Teaching" to "The Development of the Multicultural Self" and "Fostering Critical Thinking, Active Learning and Awareness of Diversity Across the Curriculum."
Keynote addresses include "Mindfulness & Metacognition: Strategies for Encouraging Thoughtful Students," presented by Peter Doolittle of Virginia Polytechnic Institute; "College Teaching and Learning: Paradoxes Revealed," presented by Wilbert McKeachie, director emeritus of the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching at the University of Michigan; and "Greater Expectations for Teaching and Learning: Obligations without Measure," presented by L. Lee Knefelkamp of Columbia University.
