Ombudsman for NPR to speak

National Public Radio Ombudsman Jeffrey Dvorkin will share his perspective on the news in a talk, "Inside NPR," at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 27, in 154-158 Marcum Conference Center. The free session is open to the public.

As NPR’s ombudsman, Dvorkin receives, investigates and responds to queries from the public regarding editorial standards in programming. He also writes an online column, "NPR Ombudsman," at and speaks about journalistic issues during NPR programs.

While some newspapers in the United States have had ombudsmen since the 1960s, it is reportedly rare for U.S. broadcast media to appoint an ombudsman.

He will be Darrel Gray’s guest on "WMUB Forum" at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24 (repeated at 7 p.m.).

His visit is sponsored by WMUB 88.5 FM, Miami’s public radio station. For more information, go to
