Well-Being Way, a program to help employees optimize their well-being and long-term health, is accepting sign-ups for a spring session.
This free program, sponsored by Miami's employee health and well-being initiative, involves weekly, small group gatherings to help participants pay closer attention to their lives and become their own well-being experts.
Participants in a pilot program conducted last spring commented they enjoyed the camaraderie that developed. In addition, they learned how to fit personal time into their schedules and look at new ways to reenergize.
"It made me realize I don't have to feel bad for taking time for myself," commented one participant.
Led by Jay Kimiecik, director of employee health and well-being, the small group sessions begin in January and will meet Wednesdays from noon to 1 p.m. in 123 Phillips Hall on the following dates: Jan. 10, 17, 24, 31; Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28; March 7.
The Well-Being Way program is available to employees who are benefit-eligible. Because of the small-group nature of the program, space is limited and a random drawing may be needed to determine the spring 2007 participant list.
To sign up for the program, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by Dec. 11.
