Judith Sturnick to speak on power and organizational politics
Leadership expert Judith Sturnick will speak on "Power and Organizational Politics: Navigational Skills" at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in Room 100 of the art building.
Sturnick has served as president of The Union Institute and University (retired in 2002), Keene State College and the University of Maine at Farmington. She was founder and president of the Sturnick Group for Executive Coaching and Consulting and served as vice president for the Office on Women in Higher Education at the American Council on Education.
Internationally recognized as an expert in leadership, organizational change, stress management and balancing life and work, she has consulted and led workshops in many countries. Sturnick will also meet with students, faculty and staff during her campus visit.
She is currently a visiting fellow at the New England Resource Center for Higher Education, where she is working on a book dealing with the courage to lead.
Sturnick earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota, her master’s from Miami and her doctorate from Ohio State University.
Her talk is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the provost’s office in partnership with the women’s center and Women’s Leadership Initiative Project.
