Lilly Conference features sessions on humor, other topics

The 23rd annual Lilly Conference on College Teaching, "The Art & Craft of Teaching," will be held Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 20-23, at Marcum Conference Center.

Featured presenter will be Ronald Berk, professor of biostatistics and measurement at the School of Nursing at Johns Hopkins University. Berk is the recipient of several teaching awards and author of scores of publications and six books, including Professors Are From Mars, Students Are from Snickers and Humor as an Instructional Defibrillator. He writes a monthly column, "Ask Mr. Humor Person," in MedWorldNEWS and was recently featured in a cover story in the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Berk will speak at 8:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. Friday and 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

More than 50 other teacher-scholars will present papers, seminars and workshops on topics ranging from using technology to cooperative learning.
