Miami’s first clean energy system installed at ERC

A one-kilowatt solar electric (photovoltaic) system was installed at Miami’s Ecology Research Center over the summer. The equipment and installation were made possible through a $3,000 grant received from the Ohio Department of Development’s Office of Energy Efficiency and the donation of solar modules from Glen Kizer and the Foundation for Environmental Education.

Miami’s Institute of Environmental Sciences will hold a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at the ERC commemorating its designation as a partner in the Million Solar Roofs Initiative. Attendees will see all the components of the photovoltaic system. Students, faculty and community members are invited. Refreshments will be served.
