$1.5 million endows finance professorship
Miami alumnus and benefactor Jack R. Anderson has presented Miami with a $1.5 million gift to establish the Jack R. Anderson Professorship in Finance.
A national search will be conducted to bring a renowned scholar to the endowed position.
Anderson graduated from Miami in 1947 with a degree in accountancy and earned a master’s degree from Columbia Business School. His business career saw him rise to become CEO of Hospital Affiliates International Inc. and INA Health Group Inc. He served as a director of 13 public companies and chairman of the board of five of them. He is president of Calver Corp., a health care consulting and investment firm.
"Jack’s gift will benefit Miami’s students and the business school far into the future. It’s a great step toward enhancing teaching and growing the reputation of the school," said Roger Jenkins, business school dean.
A previous gift from Anderson has allowed Miami to bring national leaders to campus through the Jack R. Anderson Distinguished Lecture series.
