Concert Dec. 12 includes ‘Messiah’

Miami music groups will combine forces to perform Handel’s “Messiah” at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, in Hall Auditorium.

Ethan Sperry will conduct the Chamber Singers, Collegiate Chorale, symphony and soloists in selections from all three portions of the “Messiah.”

For the second half of the program, Ricardo Averbach will conduct Ravel’s Suite No. 2 from the ballet “Daphnis and Chloé.” The full orchestra with an expanded wind section and voices will tell the story of Daphnis and Chloé, two young lovers who are separated and reunited.

The concert is free and open to the public.
