Monthly financial reports to be e-mailed
Monthly financial reports will be e-mailed from the controller’s office directly to financial managers, principal investigators and their designated alternates beginning in January 2004.
“Our goal is to enhance our customers’ efficiency by delivering targeted financial information directly to their desktop,” said Chris Worley, coordinator of business systems technology.
Each month, financial managers and principal investigators will receive one e-mail when monthly financial reports are run (normally around the 10th of the month). This e-mail will contain one or more Adobe pdf file attachments, which are condensed monthly financial reports.
This process is totally automated. By default, financial managers and principal investigators are set up to receive all reports containing information on the funds or grants for which they are responsible. However, they can manage the distribution of their reports through a Web application, Monthly Financial Reports – Electronic Maintenance Form.
The maintenance form enables the financial manager and principal investigator to perform three tasks:
• Select the specific reports they want to receive (including none).
• Assign alternates to receive any or all of their monthly financial information by fund/orgn.
• Designate an assistant to maintain the alternate list.
All monthly financial reports will continue to be available in MInE along with at least two full years of past reports.
