Over winter break IT services will perform maintenance and upgrades to the Blackboard system. From 12:01 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 30, and again from 12:01 a.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, the Blackboard system will be unavailable. These outage times are estimates and actual outages may be shorter or longer.
During the outages, users attempting to access the myMiami/Blackboard site will be redirected to a page with links to e-mail, Kronos, net disk, BannerWeb, bursar e-bills, the knowledge base and the university libraries.
Updates to the outage timing may be posted to the redirect page if it appears that the outage will be longer than anticipated. Blackboard course sites and organizations will not be available during the outages.
These outages will allow IT services technicians to move the Blackboard system to a new server environment with increased capacity and perform patching and software maintenance, as recommended by Blackboard.
