Climate change topic of Limper Lecture Saturday
The response of the world's glaciers to recent global climate change will be the focus of a Limper Lecture at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, in 115 Shideler Hall.
Berry Lyons, director of the Byrd Polar Research Center at Ohio State University, will discuss findings by researchers there who are examining the relationship between glacier melting and recent sea level change. Their research involves the development and use of new methods that allow satellite-based monitoring of changes in polar glaciers.
The 45-minute presentation is intended for a general audience and is free and open to the public. The Limper Geology Museum, also located in Shideler Hall, will be open 9-11:30 a.m.
