Sexual Harassment Referral Service ready to listen and explain options

The Sexual Harassment Referral Service was created in 1989 to provide knowledgeable people who can explain options to Miami faculty, staff and students who believe they have been sexually harassed. Members of the staff are available to listen to individuals' concerns and offer options of how to proceed with matters such as filing a complaint with the Office of Equity and Equal Opportunity.

The objective of the organization and its representatives is not to determine whether a violation of Miami's policy or the law exists but to provide individuals a forum to speak out about sexual harassment and abuse and to inform individuals who believe that they have been sexually harassed of various options available to help them resolve the issue. Representatives of the Sexual Harassment Referral Service pledge to honor the courage it takes the individual so speak out, advocate the empowerment of making choices and instill hope.

New members of the committee include Marti Kyger, Lisa Campbell, Rhonda Jackson, Terri Messman-Moore, Judy Austin and Natalie Bales. They join veteran representatives Charles Nies, Beth Baer, Leena Batra, Cathy Greene, Tonia Hollon, Linda Kramer, Sharon Long, Kathy McMahon-Klosterman, Rosalind Mason, Linda Rosenberger, and Regina Williams.
