Faculty and staff interested in the use of supercomputers and high performance computing are invited to attend an interactive video conference 1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11, in 362 Gaskill Hall.
Jack Dongarra, distinguished professor at the University of Tennessee department of computer science, will discuss "Supercomputers & Clusters & Grids, Oh My!" In addition to reviewing recent trends, his talk will discuss high performance computing architectures currently being imagined and developed.
His lecture is part of the OSC Statewide Users Group Distinguished Lecture Series and Ralph Regula School of Computational Science Lecture Series and is hosted at Miami by the Research Computing Group of Academic Technology Services.
Dongarra also is director of the Innovative Computing Laboratory, director of the Center for Information Technology Research and part of the distinguished research staff at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
