'The Future of Literature'

N. Katherine Hayles, Phi Beta Kappa visiting scholar, will present “The Future of Literature” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, in Room 100 of the art building.

Hayles, the Hillis Professor of Literature in the English department at University of California, Los Angeles, has a joint appointment in the design/media arts department and serves as the associate vice chancellor of research.

Her talk will focus on how electronic literature challenges traditional ideas of how we read and engage with literary texts. She will also lead a discussion on wikis at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, in the Bachelor Hall Reading Room.

Her visit is sponsored by Miami's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.
