Advisory committee to review starting wages for classified positions
An advisory committee has been appointed to review the pay zone minimums (i.e. starting wages) for classified staff positions and to make recommendations for necessary adjustments.
The university regularly reviews pay zone minimums as part of its classification and compensation program, with the last review conducted two years ago.
The committee, appointed by Richard Norman, vice president for finance and business services, includes Robert Holmes, housing, dining and guest services (HDGS), and Irene Pierce, NROTC, representing the classified personnel advisory committee; Randy Marcum, physical facilities (PFD), and Gregory Burnett, PFD, representing the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees; Valerie Garnett, IT services; Nancy Heidtman, HDGS; and Matt Boaz, equity and equal opportunity, who will chair the committee.
Kate Stoss and Denise Ison of the human resources staff will serve as ex-officio members and help provide the committee with market data, analysis and other pertinent information. Norman has asked the committee to make its recommendations by Feb. 10.
