Aaron K. Shrimplin
Aaron K. Shrimplin has been promoted to associate librarian and granted continuing contract status.
He earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Wittenberg University. He completed Ph.D. coursework in political science at Kent State University and earned an M.L.I.S. from the University of Pittsburgh with an emphasis in information technologies.
Shrimplin specializes in electronic information services and numeric data services. He is coordinator of the collection development and management cluster, teaches in the interactive media studies program, participates in developing the libraries' Web site, and is subject specialist for political science, international studies and law.
Shrimplin's research interests include statistical literacy, user-centered Web design, and development of Web-based tools with open source scripting language.
He authored articles that appeared in College and Research Libraries News, E-JASL: The Electronic Journal of Academic and Special Libraries, and IASSIST Quarterly, and he has presented at national conferences including Computers in Libraries, HighEdWebDev and the Interuniversity Consortium for Political and Social Research conference. Shrimplin has developed numerous grant proposals to promote statistical literacy instruction.
