Graham Bowling appointed new student trustee

Miami University junior Graham Bowling is the newest student trustee appointed by Ohio Gov. John Kasich to the university’s board of trustees. He’s a business management major and marketing minor from Delaware.

As a student at Rutherford B. Hayes High School, Bowling served as the president of Habitat for Humanity Youth United and was chair of the 100% Tobacco-Free Campus  (TFC) Committee.  While a student at Miami, he has served on Associated Student Government (ASG), the Business Student Advisory Council and The Wells Project. He is also a student leader in Cru and volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Bowling is a life member of the National Eagle Scout Association, has served as a representative to Buckeye Boys State and was named the Elks National Foundation Scholar in 2010. His awards include Ohio Public Health Association's Citizen of the Year (2011), Delaware County's Teen of the Year (2011) and Sigma Phi Epsilon's Balanced Man (2011).

His term began July 18 and ends Feb. 28, 2015. The student trustee is a non-voting board member. Bowling replaces Lot Kwarteng, who graduated in May.
