Join Miami's first Commuter Competition Nov. 4-15

Miami's Green Team has collaborated with the BCRTA to provide "Getting to Know U" information bus rides for faculty and staff to learn more about the new bus system. The 30-minute rides begin at 11:30 a.m., noon and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, boarding at the front porch of Cole Service Building.

A BCRTA representative will be on board to answer questions.

Enter the Ride Challenge:  Join a team for the Nov. 4-15 competition

All faculty and staff are encouraged to enter the Ride Challenge by joining one of the two competing teams (up to 200 members each for the PFD and the HDRBS teams). The goals of the commuter challenge are to:

  • encourage faculty and staff to use the new bus system
  • reduce single-occupancy cars on central campus by carpooling, walking, riding a bike or using the bus system.

The competition is open to all employees.

How to sign up

• Stop by the Green Team's "Getting to Know U" table 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the front lobby of the Cole Service Building, or

• Sign up online, or

• Contact Allie Wagner, sustainability education coordinator, at beckneal@MiamiOH.edu

The BCRTA buses and trolleys are free with a Miami ID. The bus system also provides Park and Ride options.

The competition is sponsored by BCRTA, parking and transportation services, the PFD Green Team and the sustainability office.
