Journalists, authors headline lectures this week at Miami

Miami University's Oxford campus welcomes well-known and well-regarded journalists and authors this week (March 17, 18, 19).

In addition to Monday’s Lecture Series featuring Jose Antonio Vargas and the JANUS forum Wednesday, featuring Jonah Goldberg and Eugene Robinson, join discussions with some of the nation's top writers.

Monday, March 17:
Gretchen Morgenson, New York Times financial columnist, will speak at 6 p.m. Monday, March 17, in 1056 Armstrong Student Center. Sponsored by Miami's Public Relations Student Society of America chapter.

Tuesday, March 18:
Alex Kotlowitz, journalist, author and multimedia-creator known for his long-form narratives including "There Are No Children Here," will present "The Journalism of Empathy: The Craft of Nonfiction Storytelling" at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, in the Shriver Center Heritage Room. Sponsored by the department of media, journalism and film.

Wednesday, March 19:
Herbert Randall, photographer known for his images of Freedom Summer 1964 (taken both in Oxford and in Hattiesburg, Miss.), will speak about his work at 5 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the Shriver Center Heritage Room. Sponsored by the department of media, journalism and film.

Keith Beauchamp, journalist known for his documentary, "The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till," will speak at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the Shriver Center Heritage Room. Hosted by the Diversity Affairs Council.
