Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration Jan. 19

A communitywide celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at the Oxford Community Arts Center, 10 S. College Ave.

The guest speaker is Jerome Conley, dean of Miami University Libraries and former mayor of Oxford.

Musical selections will be performed by Tammy Kernodle, professor of music, and Alexis Thompson.

The event is hosted by the Oxford Community Arts Center in collaboration with the Miami University office of diversity affairs, Center for American and World Cultures, Oxford NAACP, Oxford Lane Library, Talawanda School District, Smith Library of Regional History and Oxford Citizens for Peace and Justice. 

The event is free and open to all.
