Forum to address the issue of defining consent
All members of the Miami University community are invited to an open forum 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, in 127 Upham Hall to discuss how to define consent in relation to sexual activity among Miami students.
The forum is organized by the office of the dean of students, office of equity and equal opportunity and the Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Program.
"Laws and codes of conduct often define what is not consent," said Becca Getson, Miami's sexual assault response coordinator. "We can more effectively define and adjudicate sexual misconduct offenses through Miami's Student Code of Conduct if the university community agrees on defining consent."
