Communitywide Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Program Jan. 18

A communitywide celebration of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, at the Oxford Community Arts Center, 10 S. College Ave.

Keynote speaker Yvette Harris, professor of psychology, will present “Where Are Our Children? The Unspoken Dreams of African American Children.”

The program kicks off the Black History Celebration programming at Miami with the theme “Whose Lives Matter?” 

The event is hosted by the Oxford Community Arts Center in collaboration with the Miami University office of diversity affairs, Oxford NAACP, Oxford Lane Library, Talawanda School District, Smith Library of Regional History and Oxford Citizens for Peace and Justice. 

The event is free and open to all.
