Chinese culture camp teaches mask-making, kung fu, calligraphy and more

Chinese Language and Culture Camp

Register today for the summer Chinese Language and Culture Camp. Students learn how to make kites.

Miami University’s Confucius Institute will host the third annual Chinese Language and Culture Camp in July for children in grades K-8.

Participants will learn basic Chinese vocabulary, phrases and character writing. They will learn about Chinese culture through activities such as kung fu, kite-making, calligraphy, mask-making and more.

All sessions are 8 a.m.-1 p.m. in 126 McGuffey Hall and will be held:

  • July 18-22 for grades K-5.
  • July 25-29 for grades 6-8 (includes rising freshman).

Note: Grade levels are determined based on fall 2016 status.

A lunch and light morning snack will be provided daily. The cost is $60 for children of Miami faculty or staff and $80 for others.  Discounts are available for additional family members.
