Cheryl Irish appointed to national accreditation council

Cheryl Irish has been appointed to an advisory committee for the Council of Accreditation for Educator Preparation.

Irish is director of accreditation and assessment in the College of Education, Health and Society at Miami University. She will serve as a member of the council’s specialized professional associations advisory committee.

Based out of Washington, D.C., the advisory committee seeks to advance the mission of the council — to “advance excellent educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality.” It also “supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning.”

Irish, who has been at Miami since 2013, played a key role in the streamlining of the college’s assessment process. She also teaches several courses in the department of educational psychology.

Miami is a member of the Council of Accreditation for Educator Preparation.
