Drug Take-Back Day to be held in Oxford Oct. 22

A Drug Take-Back Day will be held from 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 22, in Oxford’s Uptown Park.

The national event hopes to bring a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing prescription and nonprescription drugs. Drugs will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

Inhalers and liquids will not be permitted at the event. The Sharps exchange program will be available to ensure that sharp medical instruments are properly disposed. These instruments include needles, IV tubing with needles, scalpel blades, razor blades, lancets, glass tubes, syringes and other diabetic testing supplies.

The event is sponsored by McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital-TriHealth, Oxford police department, Miami University police department (MUPD) and Coalition for a Healthy Community.
