University Senate action April 17

In a separate session, Senate elected the following senators for Senate Executive Committee positions for 2017-18:

  • Terri Barr, Chair-Elect
  • Helaine Alessio, At-Large

On Monday, April 17, University Senate heard reports from:

  • Robin Parker, General Counsel
  • Renee Baernstein, College of Arts and Science
  • Drew Reffett, Chair, Senate Executive Committee

Items received on the Senate consent calendar included:

  • Curriculum items dated April 17, 2017
  • Graduate Council Minutes – March 14, 2017 
  • Proposed Revision to Office Hours for Instructional Staff – MUPIM 5.7
  • Proposed Revisions to Transfer Students – S.H.1.1.C 

Minutes of the University Senate April 3, 2017. meeting were approved.

With the approval of the April 17, 2017 abbreviated minutes, University Senate endorsed the following resolutions:

SR17-06

Bachelor of Arts in Public Health

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate endorses the proposed degree, Bachelor of Arts in Public Health, with a major in Public Health, College of Arts and Science and College of Education, Health, and Society;

AND FURTHERMORE, that the endorsement by University Senate of the proposed degree and major will be forwarded to the Miami University Board of Trustees for consideration;  

SR17-07

Promotion and Tenure Guidelines for Dossier Preparation 2017-2018

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate adopts revisions as amended to the 2017–2018 Promotion and Tenure Guidelines for Dossier Preparation.

Dossier and Evaluation Guidelines for Lecturers, Clinical and Professionally Licensed Faculty 2017-2018

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate adopts revisions as amended* to the 2017-2018 Dossier and Evaluation Guidelines for Lecturers, Clinical & Professionally Licensed Faculty.
