Miami among nation's best for return on investment, career prep

Miami University is among the nation's best colleges for academics, career preparation and affordability/financial aid, according to The Princeton Review.

The university appears in the Princeton Review’s 2018 edition of its annual guide, Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck.

Miami students “applaud the commitment of the school in providing tools to help them to find jobs after college, including ‘career fairs, relationships with recruiters, supporting alumni, mock interview/résumé workshops/career services, and teaching material that is applicable to future endeavors,’” according to editors.

The Princeton Review chose the 200 schools based on a comprehensive analysis of 658 colleges that weighted more than 40 data points to tally return on investment (ROI) ratings for the schools.

Data analyzed covered academics, cost, financial aid, graduation rates, student debt and more. The company collected the data from its 2016-2017 surveys of administrators and students at the schools.

It also factored in PayScale.com data collected through last spring from its online compensation survey on starting and midcareer salaries of alumni of the schools.
