Banner Class Waitlist - Student FAQ

What is Banner Waitlisting?

Banner Waitlisting is a feature that allows students to “get in line” for a spot in a class that’s full.  Departments may also use waitlist information to determine when additional sections of a class are needed.

What classes have Banner Waitlists available?

All regional online courses have the waitlist available, it is not date dependent. Note: The waitlist will not be available until you are eligible to register and met the prerequisites for the course.  

How do I add myself to a waitlist for a course?

Go to the “Registration/Change of Schedule” area of Bannerweb. If a course is full and a waitlist is available, you should see a status message like the one below (Closed - # Waitlisted):

Status will be closed with number on waitlist.

 

Choose the “Waitlisted” option from the Action box and click the “Submit Changes” button

Choose waitlisted from Action drop down.



You should now see that you are waitlisted for the course.

Status will show waitlisted and date.

How will I be notified if a seat becomes available?

An email notification will be sent to your Miami email account from classwaitlist@miamioh.edu.  The subject line will be “Waitlist Notification for <CourseCRN>”

How do I register once I am notified?

You go to the banner registration page and you will be able to change from Waitlisted status to “Web Registered”
