Be a Tutor

Are you interested in helping other students, getting even better in your own subjects, and earning some money in the process? If so, consider being a peer tutor for the Tutoring & Learning Centers on the Hamilton and Middletown campuses.

To be qualified, you must:

  • have earned at least an A- in the course(s) that you would like to tutor.
  • have an overall GPA of 3.3 or better.
  • have an instructor who would be willing to write a letter of recommendation for you.

Please give your professor or employer a link to this page so that s/he may complete an online recommendation form. (See buttons below.)

The process involves an application, interview, and reference check. We support you with a Tutor Training Workshop that teaches you the skills and strategies to help your fellow students become independent and resourceful learners by helping them find the tools to build their own academic success.

Being a peer tutor is a rewarding way for you make a difference on campus, but it is also a way for you to interact with other students, tutors, staff, and faculty, learn the problem solving skills that future employers highly value, and get valuable experience that looks great on your résumé!
