The Benefits of Chocolate Focus of Heart Talk at Miami Regionals

Miami University Regionals’ Office of Community Engagement & Service and Verity Traditions will co-host a Heart Talk on The Benefits of Chocolate on Thursday, Oct. 6 from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. in Verity Lodge on the Middletown Campus.

Jennifer Sliger, from the Department of Kinesiology and Health at Miami University, will talk about the nutritional/medicinal benefits of chocolate. She will share with us a brief history of how its use as medicine goes back to ancient times, and throughout history to today. In addition, she will describe how its chemical make-up contributes to its health benefits, the different types of chocolate, which countries consume the most of it, and craving.

Of course, we cannot leave out the most delicious part! You will have the opportunity to taste a wide variety of chocolates at the event. Coffee will also be served.

Love donations will be accepted at this event to benefit the Heart Walk on Oct. 15 at the Atrium Medical Center Campus.

Space is limited, so reserve your spot by Oct. 4! For more information on topics or to RSVP, email Crystal Ford at fordcm2@miamioh.edu or call (513)727-3339. Verity Lodge is located at 4200 N. University Blvd. on the Miami Regionals’ Middletown campus.
