A man wearing a blue tee shirt and khaki pants leans agains a wall, with his arms crossed and his left foot crossed at the ankle over his right. Next to him, is a large sign for the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics at Miami University. The sign takes up most of the wall space visible in the photo. In the background are DNA models and visualizations. A broad red strip reading "Miami University" is laid over the top third of these images. Laid on top of the red strip, a thinner grey strip reads, "CBFG Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics."Dr. Andor Kiss is director of the Center for Bioinformatics and Functional Genomics. His recent crowdfunding campaign resulted in the acquisition of new genome sequencing equipment for the CBFG.
